It's curious that in spanish the attention is lent whereas in english the attention is paid. Does that mean that in spanish speaker country, if you speak you have to ask for the attention and people will or wont lend it to you? And in english speaker countries, does that mean that the people has to pay the attention to listen to your words?

According to this the english speakers are more valuable, they have the power, the listener is the one who has to pay with the attention. In spanish speakers countries the listener has the power, the maximum the speaker can do is to borrow it if the listener is willing to

Does that mean anything? I dont know... The way a language is spoken can be very influential in a culture.

Hoy una curiosidad, no muy util, pero aun así...

Es curioso que en español la atención se presta mientras que en ingles se paga. ¿Quiere eso decir que si hablas en un pais hispano-hablante tienes que pedir que te presten la atención y la gente te lo prestará o no? ¿Y que en un pais anglo parlante la gente tiene que pagar la atención para escucharte?

De acuerdo a esto los oradores ingleses son mas valiosos, tienen el poder, el oyente tiene que pagar con la atención. En paises hispanos, el que escucha tiene el poder, lo máximo que el orador puede hacer es pedir prestada la atención.

¿Quiere eso decir algo? Quien sabe... La forma en que se habla influye mucho en una cultura.
